Olivier Taupin
A new generation of innovation leaders has been born. They are the Social CEOs. And they understand that Social Media is not a tool but a mindset.
Olivier is the architect of the 10-Step Social Media Leadership-The Taupin Model © which guides CEOs on how to assess, plan, develop, and lead the social influence and the media content of their social media strategy. For him, social media marketing, social selling, social CRM, social recruiting, and corporate social responsibility are all functional tactics in the corporate social media strategy. He believes the mastermind behind this grand plan can only be the Social CEO.
For Olivier, expanding a company’s social influence is no different than boosting the membership of a community, and he knows about communities: Olivier founded the one-million-member Linked:HR, the largest professional group on LinkedIn worldwide. He also is the inspiration and the process strategist behind more than one hundred large business communities, including Linked:Energy with 230K members, Next Dimension Careers with 120K members, and Linked:Seattle with 54K members.
Olivier now is at the front line of tomorrow’s social media: Vertical business networks. He believes that today’s catchall networks like LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook have shown their limits. Venture Capitalists, including LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, have recently invested more than $750M in what they believe is the future of social media: social business networks catering to the needs of specific functions or industries, such as software development (GitHub), Information Technology (Spiceworks), education (Edmodo), or healthcare (Doximity).
Originally from Paris, France, Olivier has an MBA from Pacific Lutheran University. Before catching the social media virus he utilized his creativity and innovation leadership in the computer peripherals industry with 3M, Control Data, Seagate, and Quantum.
